Maker: Cambridge Glass Co. #2653, a Near Cut pattern.
Date: Ca. 1908.
Size: 3" tall, 1-5/8" wide, 1-3/8" base.
Desc: Heavy glass, columnar. Body covered with squares with beveled edges. Each square has octagonal star. Rows or tiers of squares alternate, separated by clear diagonal ribbons.
Colors Known: Clear.
Decoration: Ruby stain with gold.

More Info: Very similar pattern made by Westmoreland, called "Checkerboard." The Cambridge glass is better quality, very clear, and the ribbons go over and under each other where they pass.
