2000 AAGSSCS Convention - Huntington, West Virginia

Convention Program: July 27 - 29, 2000
"Room Hopping" buying and selling shakers between members - From early birds to any free time during the Convention. (If you have never attended a convention, be prepared to see more shakers for sale than you have ever seen in one place!)

Thursday Evening: "Show and Tell" get together with dessert. (Bargains and/or special purchases members have found). Members, bring your shaker and it's story!

Thursday Evening: Annual Auction (Don't be late and miss this!). Members, bring your consignment shakers to sell and shakers to be donated to the auction.

Friday: Pilgrim Glass Co, Huntington Art Museum, and Blenko Glass tour.

Friday Lunch: Huntington Art Museum - two rooms devoted to West Virginia Glass

Saturday AM: Shaker Identifications and Annual Meeting

Saturday Early PM: Speakers

Saturday PM: Display Contest between members - Special displays following Convention theme

Saturday Evening: Banquet with Speaker

Sunday: Complimentary Breakfast

West Virginia Glass, Best of Show

The "Best of Show" Display was Titled "West Virginia Glass". It featured shakers made by
the West Virginia Glass Companies. Shakers from different factories were grouped together.
Also, Best West Virginia Theme and Most Educational

Reflections of Color, Best 15 or Less Display Great Pairs, Best Most Creative

LEFT: "Reflections of Color" A creative display using only 15 shakers. From the picture
it looks like many more due to the effective use of mirrors. Best 15 of Less Shakers.
RIGHT: "Great Pairs" An attractive display of some beautiful pairs of shakers. Highlighted by rare
clear glass pair of Bride & Groom "Fig" or "Beet" shakers, appropriately dressed. Best Most Creative.
